The twelve outer walls, with the dome hemisphere are entirely self-supporting. Q. I live in Quebec. Will the Proton Dome handle the cold and heavy snow loads and strong winds? A. Snow does not build up on the dome, so snow load is not a factor with Proton Dome. Proton Dome has three inches of foam sprayed inside the dome, plus one inch of zonalight for fire protection.
